This year the Mobile World Congress came and went with great swiftness, but with it came the announcement of a new revolutionary mobile phone. It’s made by Sony Ericsson and its called the XPERIA X1.

XPERIA Accessories

XPERIA is a new line of high-end products that Sony Ericsson intends to expand, but the first device of the line is the X1. The X1 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 based smartphone that has a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out from underneath the device in a elliptical motion giving the device a comfortable curve when the keyboard is extended. The XPERIA X1 also shines when it comes to its display, it has a 3-inch touch display at a resolution of 800×480, that’s standard definition TV or DVD quality, something that isn’t seen on hardly any handsets right now.

The place where the XPERIA X1 truly shines though is the way in which it allows you to interact with Windows Mobile. They have customized the WM6 UI 9 different ways based on 9 common activities that people do on their mobile/smart phones and made them into panels that you can switch between. They not only make WM6 navigation easier, but they make it simpler to do the things you want to do without having to poke through the menus of Windows Mobile.

The body of the phone is made completely out of metal and is really shiny. You have your choice of navigational controls for moving through the menus, there are the keys on the sliding keyboard, there is the touchscreen, and then there is a D-Pad with an optical joystick, your choice, and one of the 3 will get you around, or you can use a combination of the 3. The XPERIA X1 is unbelievably easy to use.
